Turkish Airlines Flight Delay and Overbooking Issue
My experience with Turkish Airlines was extremely frustrating. A flight that should have taken no more than 3 hours during the summer ended up taking 10 hours due to continuous delays, which made us lose faith in the company. While we were waiting for our flight, a Turkish Airlines representative asked us if we would volunteer to take a later flight for a compensation of €100 because the plane was full and there were even people on standby. We agreed and handed over our tickets. However, while we were wandering around the airport, we received a call at 6 PM urgently asking us to come back because the plane was about to depart and our volunteering was no longer needed. It is very disheartening to see such a large airline company use people in this way for business. Unfortunately, Turkish Airlines, which claims to have the most flights in the world, has turned into a neighborhood shuttle service.
