We, a group of 8, purchased tickets for the TK0706 Istanbul-Kabul flight scheduled for 09.06.2024, with the ticket issued on 08.05.2024. When we arrived at the check-in counter at Istanbul Airport 5 hours before the flight, we were initially told that we were late. Later, we discovered that 30 extra tickets had been sold and our passengers were placed on standby. Standby tickets were issued to 3 of the 8 passengers. At the counter, the remaining passengers were offered €600 each. We were then directed to the Turkish Airlines ticket sales unit to resolve the issue as 5 of our passengers were not shown on the flight. The supervisor, Ms. G****, initially stated that the issue was on their end and asked us to wait 10 minutes for approval. After 10 minutes, they claimed the issue was due to the agency. During their discussion, they informed us that the reservation status of the tickets was affected because we separated the PNR for one of the 5 passengers processed under a single PNR. They claimed this information was sent to a*******@gmail.com and 0553*******14 on May 23 by Trophy. However, upon checking our emails and messages, we found no such notification. After 2 hours of effort, we went to the Turkish Airlines Denied Boarding Desk to request seats for the 3 standby tickets. They informed us that our passengers needed to enter and would be given seats if other passengers did not show up or gave up their seats. Due to visa violations, our passengers first needed to go to the visa violation office, which required their seat to be specified on the ticket. After more than 5 hours of effort, we managed to get tickets for these 3 passengers, but the other 5 were left stranded. When we bought the tickets a month earlier, they were $450, but now they are being sold for $2500, and all flights for the next week are fully booked. We have been seriously affected. We want you to know that we will initiate the necessary legal process and follow it to the end. As a passenger, I buy my ticket, arrive at the counter on time, and then I'm told 'you can't fly' with a bunch of nonsensical explanations. I ask, what would you do if you were in my place? All of this is documented and recorded. The agency has admitted in its correspondence with Turkish Airlines that the fault lies with Turkish Airlines. We demand a refund of the ticket prices and compensation.
