On June 13th, for the 08:20 flight from Esenboga to Istanbul Airport, my brother was not allowed to board the Turkish Airlines flight 40 minutes before departure (I am writing this because I purchased the ticket for my brother). He is 13 years old. We were told 'You should have been here an hour ago.' We were already in line 40 minutes before the flight. We waited about 20 minutes for the issue to be resolved because the gentleman in front of us had a problem with his ticket. During this time, we were told that they couldn't process my brother's check-in because the gentleman's issue was not resolved. Since my brother was not allowed to board, we had to buy a new ticket. We purchased another ticket for 2500₺ for the 12:05 flight. When my brother went for check-in at exactly 11:05, he was told 'We will process your check-in closer to the flight time.' Is this some kind of joke? If you are going to process check-ins close to the flight time, why didn't you allow my brother to board 40 minutes before the departure? Until today, I have always chosen Turkish Airlines for its quality and recommended it to my relatives as well.
