Turkish Airlines Double Charged for Extra Baggage with No Refund
I flew with THY on February 8th from Istanbul to Vietnam. I decided to add two additional bags to my luggage and ended up paying ₺32,000 at the check-in counter. Nevertheless, they insisted that they were unable to locate the payment in their system and requested an additional ₺32,000 at the sales office to ensure that I wouldn't miss my flight. With some hesitation, I decided to pay the extra amount to avoid any inconvenience and make sure I wouldn't miss my flight. The total cost came up to ₺64,000 for the two additional bags.
After being told by THY staff that the excess payment would be refunded within 1-2 days, I patiently awaited the refund. However, it has been 1.5 months and there is still no indication of receiving a refund. I've sent numerous emails and documents, but it's frustrating that I haven't been able to find anyone to address my issue.
I've lost ₺1000 USD in this unfortunate situation. Others should be cautious of THY's lack of accountability and poor customer service.
