Turkish Airlines Denied the Request for Damaged Baggage Compensation
On April 13, 2024, during my Ercan-Istanbul and Istanbul-Ankara connecting flight with ticket number 2352222591785, I received my suitcase with baggage tag number TK 749924 in a damaged condition. At Esenboga Airport, I informed the lost and found office that I had a high-speed train ticket and didn't have much time to file a report. They advised me that I could create a new notification on the THY website by uploading photos of the damaged baggage and the repair invoice to file a compensation claim. Accordingly, I submitted a claim with file number 2024082745, uploading the photos and a repair invoice of ₺610. However, on April 18, 2024, I was informed that my claim was reviewed and denied because no report was filed at the lost and found office. I am frustrated that THY is treating me as if I am making a false statement by not accepting the ₺610 damage to my suitcase and making me bear the cost. I request that my compensation claim be reviewed again.
