On June 26, 2023, I had a flight ticket from Istanbul to Agri with THY at 08:00. Despite being at the counter exactly at 07:00, they said the gates were closed and did not let me in. Even though I insisted there was still an hour left, they did not allow me and other passengers with 08:00 flights to different cities to board, claiming the gates were closed. They directed us to a solution counter, which also did not provide any resolution, and then sent us to the ticket counter. By the time it was 08:00, the ticket was void.
I wanted to cancel the ticket. They mockingly said I could only get the tax amount of ₺83 back. No refund was provided, nor any assistance. In short, we were mistreated. I complained to CIMER with no result, and I commented under the THY general manager's Twitter post, where they pretended to help. They emailed me, but again, no result. Unfortunately, I lost that money. They refuse to give the money back, saying they are powerful and we are powerless, because no solution is offered. Additionally, they mentioned in the email that you need to be there at least 45 minutes before. I was there an hour early, yet no result. Shame on them.
