Oysho Refused My Refund Request for a Tracksuit That Pilled Immediately
On May 6, 2026, I purchased a matching top and bottom set from the Oysho store at Akbatı Shopping Mall in Esenyurt, Istanbul. I wore the pants only once, on a holiday, and exclusively at home. I did not go outside or subject the garment to any unusual use. When I later attempted to wear the top for a second time, I noticed significant pilling on both the sweatshirt and the pants.
I was shocked to see such extensive fabric deterioration after only a single use. A product at this price point should not develop visible pilling after being worn once, especially when it was used only in a home environment. The issue immediately raised concerns for me regarding the quality of the fabric and overall manufacturing standards.
I took the set to the Oysho store at Marmara Park Shopping Mall and requested a refund. However, instead of evaluating the problem objectively, the staff claimed that the condition of the garments was caused by me and refused to accept any responsibility. My refund request was denied, and the issue was dismissed as if it were entirely the result of customer use.
I paid approximately $77 for the pants and approximately $85 for the top, for a total of around $162. Considering the price and the brand's reputation, I find it unacceptable that a product would deteriorate so dramatically after a single day of wear. The fact that both pieces developed heavy pilling after one use strongly suggests a fabric quality or manufacturing issue rather than user error.
I request that Oysho accept responsibility for this defective product and provide a full refund for the amount I paid. I also ask that the garments be professionally inspected so that the cause of the premature fabric deterioration can be properly evaluated.
