Turkish Airlines Denied Me to Board, and I Experienced Inconvenience Due to Poor Assistance
On Friday, September 22, 2023, I purchased a flight ticket from Ankara to Ordu for 20:15. We waited at the gate specified on the ticket an hour before the flight. I asked an employee at gate 304 if this was the correct gate for Ordu, and they confirmed it was. Despite waiting past the boarding time, the screen did not display Ordu, so I moved to the adjacent room. I knew the gate had been changed from the one on the ticket to the adjacent gate, and I had 20 minutes left to board, but we were denied entry. Even though we were sitting right next to the gate listed on the ticket, no one called us or contacted the emergency number listed on the ticket. They said it was our fault for not checking the gate, and despite having 20 minutes before departure, they offered no assistance. We had to buy a new ticket for the next flight and eventually got to Ordu. We boarded the next flight just 5 minutes before departure. I do not understand why we were not allowed to board the earlier flight. I am requesting compensation in the form of a free return flight ticket from Ordu to Ankara.
