Turkish Airlines Damaged My Samsonite Suitcase and Refused Repair It Properly
During my flight from Izmir to Istanbul, THY broke my suitcase. Since they didn't have the same brand to replace it, they handed me a paper and sent me to the Samsonite service center. There, due to the employee's lack of interest and not listening to me, the suitcase was inadequately repaired. On top of that, they charged me money. THY and I have no agreement, they should have covered the cost. I reported the issue, but no solution was provided. Later, I had the other damaged parts of the suitcase (which Samsonite service didn't fix) repaired with non-original parts at a regular suitcase repair shop.
Coincidentally, THY broke the same suitcase in a different place during another flight a month later and again directed me to different places. However, there was no part of the suitcase left to repair. For the suitcase I bought for €300, they only offered me ₺1200 as compensation.
I did not accept this and stated that I would seek my rights in the Consumer Rights Court.
