Turkish Airlines Customer Service Misinformation and Ticket Cancellation Issue
I needed to purchase a round-trip ticket from Istanbul to Ecuador for August 31st. Since I might get married in Ecuador, I might need to cancel my return ticket. To avoid any issues with the ticket refund, I called customer service a few days before purchasing the ticket and asked my questions. The ticket I purchased was almost ₺9,000 more expensive than a regular ticket with a full refund option. When I spoke with the customer representative, I specifically shared the details of the ticket I was going to buy and asked if I could cancel it anytime. The customer service representative confirmed that I could cancel the ticket anytime and get a full refund (approximately $11xx). However, when I checked the ticket cancellation section on the THY app a few days ago, I saw that only $283 would be refunded. I immediately called customer service and reported the issue. The first person I spoke to said that I should receive a refund of $11xx and that my ticket conditions were suitable for a full refund but didn't understand why this was happening. They referred me to another person, who told me to fill out a feedback form through the app. I conveyed the situation in the feedback form and requested that the voice recordings be reviewed, but I received a negative response. Due to the misinformation from the customer service representative, I paid extra for the ticket and cannot get a full refund. I feel wronged and deceived. If I have to return to Turkey, I will definitely file a lawsuit. THY, please contact me. I am having trouble reaching your center in the USA.
