Turkish Airlines Canceled My Ticket Due to Typographical Error
I purchased a ticket for Ankara-Serbia on September 21. While booking, there was a mistake in my last name. I called the THY call center for assistance on how to correct it. I was asked to submit feedback, which I did. When I checked my ticket, I noticed the error was still there and the ticket had not been corrected. I called the call center again to fix the error, and they asked me to submit feedback once more. A week after submitting the feedback, I received an email stating that my ticket had been canceled. I was shocked. I called them again and explained that my ticket was canceled without my knowledge, but my issue was not resolved. Instead, they accused me of canceling my own ticket. I received no email or refund regarding the cancellation. My flight is tomorrow morning, and I have no ticket. No one is helping; THY is not taking responsibility for their mistakes. They keep saying they have created an urgent email, but it's a lie. The call representative I spoke to at 17:22 said they created an urgent email, but the representative I spoke to at 19:56 said the last urgent email was created at 12:38. They are just trying to end the call quickly. My flight is in 10 hours, and I have nothing. I have initiated legal proceedings through my lawyers. I am financially and emotionally distressed. I will file complaints with all relevant legal authorities. They should not take people for fools. They canceled my ₺7,400 ticket and won't refund me, and then they will sell my ticket to someone else for ₺40,000. This is how they make money, I guess. Do not give in. File every possible complaint.
