Flying with Turkish Airlines Means Lost Baggage and Poor Service

On June 24th, I traveled from Kayseri to Istanbul Airport, and I wish I hadn't. THY, a reputable company for years, now feels no different from a road transport company. The plane landed at IGA, and we waited for 2 hours at night. My small child in my arms, everyone got their luggage except me. My bag, which contained my house keys and wallet, was missing. After waiting for about 1.5 to 2 hours and having serious conversations with the staff, we learned that the luggage was left in Kayseri. When the baggage finally arrived, my backpack was torn, and the handle of my suitcase was broken. We had to start over, talking to the staff again. We were directed to the baggage damage and loss office. The staff there said, 'I have created your record, sir,' and handed us two papers, stating that we needed to apply with them. It has been 15 days, and we can neither reach anyone nor get our application accepted. We went outside, and the Havist service was over. With my baby in my arms, we had to go to Bakirkoy because the car that stops in front of our house had already left. From there, we took a taxi to our home, and it was 5 AM by the time we arrived. My spouse's mobile phone was stolen; we don't know where or by whom. They truly embarrassed us. THY used to be a respectable organization but has lost its seriousness.
