Issues with Ticketing Process of Turkish Airlines
On July 29, 2023, I contacted THY to use my open ticket. My first conversation was with Mr. F** at 8:15 PM America time. He found my old ticket based on my reservation code. We created new dates (JFK-Istanbul flight on November 10 at 12:50 PM and Istanbul-JFK flight on December 10 at 7:55 AM). The penalty and ticket change fee he requested was ₺18,447. We tried several times to process the payment via credit card, but he stated there was an error in the system. He gave me my reservation code and asked me to contact a new customer representative (reservation code VF3LHE). At 8:44 PM America time, I reached Ms. S**. She stated the amount requested with this reservation code was ₺39,782. I explained my conversation with Mr. F**, but she couldn't help me. At 9:00 PM, I spoke with a new customer representative, Mr. M**. He mentioned the same price as Ms. S**. I asked him to explain how much of this price was the penalty and how much was the ticket difference. He stated that a new ticket was created, he couldn't see my old ticket number, and he couldn't provide an explanation.
I request that all my phone conversations be reviewed. Why is there a price difference between the first given price and the price requested less than an hour later? Secondly, the price difference requested from me is higher than the cost of a new ticket. In this case, having an open ticket is a disadvantage, not an advantage. Thirdly, the last customer representative, Mr. M**, stated that my open ticket number was canceled. Who can cancel it without my consent?
Fourthly, when I contacted in July 2023 to open my ticket, I was told I could use it within a year, only paying the ticket difference and penalties for new transactions. The current requested difference is higher than the cost of a new ticket. What are the requested differences and penalties (Mr. M** couldn't explain this either)?
As I mentioned, I request that the phone conversations be reviewed and that I receive a response as soon as possible.
