On 21.05.2023, I purchased open tickets for my children with ticket numbers 2352145139655 (Melek Ada K*****) and 2352145139656 (Kagan K*****). I wanted to use these tickets for a future date. When I spoke with a male Turkish Airlines representative, I was informed that I only needed to purchase the tickets by 21.05.2023 and that I could use them before or after this date. Based on this information, we made our plans. However, we found out last night that this was not the case, and our plans with friends were disrupted. The more painful part came later. Despite being told multiple times that I would only need to pay the difference between the new tickets and the current ones, during my conversation with a Turkish Airlines representative last night, I was informed that I would need to pay a penalty of ₺6,000 + ₺6,000, totaling ₺12,000, and an additional ₺25,000 for the new route, with only ₺2,500 being refunded. If this is the case, an open ticket is completely problematic. What is the point of having an open ticket? It would be cheaper to buy a new ticket. I request a thorough investigation to resolve my grievance.
