I have never had a flight without issues at the THY Adana check-in counter. Due to my general loyalty to the institution, I didn't want to complain until now, but unfortunately, the former humane approach and corporate level are long gone.
When you arrive at the check-in counter, it's like a fairground. One of the officers is standing on the scale, another is leaning on the desk, there are loud laughs and conversations, and no one looks at the passengers. The employee who reluctantly handles our check-in without looking at us takes our ID and processes it. The barcodes cut to stick on the luggage are collected in one place and then stuck by the worker who places the luggage on the belt. When we ask about this, we are rudely told, "You go, the friend will stick it. If you really want, wait. This is the belt worker's job." Afterwards, the ground worker deliberately delays our barcode, sticks it late, and places the luggage carelessly on the belt. We receive our luggage damaged. And finally, when boarding the plane, our ticket is processed with a murmur, without looking at us, as if they are doing us a favor.
While the THY cabin crew and Istanbul Airport staff are very kind, what gives the Adana THY counter staff the right to treat our people this way? Doesn't this large institution have a mechanism to supervise such staff who do not meet basic human courtesy standards and seem to hate their job or take out their frustration on customers? Don't they have the capability to train their staff?
Previously, our luggage was sent to the wrong airport, and we were given the wrong seat. Even the responses to our complaints were arrogant, violating basic language rules, with no trace of corporate correspondence standards.
This last incident was the final straw. Even if I fly to Adana with THY again, I will never return with this company, nor will I choose or recommend it for any domestic or international travel because of this. One passenger may not matter to you, but a group of employees and managers of an institution should not be so negligent; at least there should be work ethics and a professional format.
I request the relevant units of the institution to review the camera recordings and examine the incidents I mentioned. Putting aside inappropriate behavior, will they at least continue with improper barcode tagging and improper feedback? I request to be informed personally, otherwise, I will make the necessary applications to the relevant authorities due to the potential harm they may cause to the institution.
