I Missed THY Flight Due to Slow Check-In, Forced to Buy New Ticket
On 27.06.2024, I arrived at the airport at 16:10 for my 17:25 flight to Mardin with PNR code TZMNEQ. I was directed to section E. While waiting in line, I noticed the process was very slow. I also want to mention that there were only a few staff members working at the baggage claim area in the large airport. As the flight time was approaching, I informed the staff before it was our turn. Around 16:35, they told me to go to section 44. When I got to section 44, they informed me that check-in would not be done within 45 minutes and that the plane doors were closed. They directed me to the ticket sales section. They told me that my ticket was forfeited and that I could buy a new ticket with an additional fee, and that the ticket would not be refunded. I was forced to buy a new ticket and paid ₺2100 for a flight on 29.06.2024. This has happened to me before at Mardin Airport. I checked in half an hour before and was allowed to board the plane. I am very sure that my ticket was sold to someone else. Today, I was greatly inconvenienced. With my small child, both financially and emotionally, I expect this injustice to be rectified. Please help, this kind of absurdity cannot happen.
