I Experienced Significant Inconvenience Because Turkish Airlines Lost My Luggage
On the Turkish Airlines flight TJK-IST-EDO on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11:15 AM from Istanbul to Edremit, my luggage was not loaded onto the plane and was left behind at Istanbul Airport. Since the flight had a layover and my luggage exceeded the carry-on weight limit, I checked it in. After landing in Istanbul, we transferred to the Edremit flight. While waiting to collect our luggage in Edremit, I realized my luggage was missing, and the staff informed us that some bags had been left behind in Istanbul. I had a wedding to attend that evening, and all my clothes, electronic devices, and medications were in my suitcase. I had to purchase new clothes and personal items. The staff at Edremit Airport were very helpful; they documented each missing bag and its contents and provided a contact number. Due to the delay in filing the report, I missed my shuttle and had to travel from Edremit to Ayvalik by private car. The next day, I had to travel back to Edremit from Ayvalik to collect my luggage, and just 10 minutes before I arrived at the airport, the airline informed me that they would deliver the luggage to us, but I was already almost there. I experienced both financial and emotional distress. I hope Turkish Airlines compensates for this inconvenience.
