I Experienced Inconvenience Due To the Coordination Issue Between Turkish Airlines and Ajet

On March 1, 2024, I purchased round-trip tickets from Ankara to Izmir for myself, my wife, and my sister via the Turkish Airlines (THY) mobile app, operated by AnadoluJet. A few weeks later, AnadoluJet became Ajet, and our Izmir-Ankara flight was rescheduled to more than 2 hours earlier. Through online research, we found another Ajet flight on the same day with a more suitable time and better price. We called THY to change to this flight. However, the representative informed us that Ajet is now a separate company and they could only offer THY flights, not Ajet flights. The suggested flight was at 3 AM with a layover in Istanbul. We were then directed to Ajet. After waiting 50 minutes to connect with Ajet customer service, the representative stated they couldn't process the change with a THY PNR number and that THY should resolve the issue. This cycle repeated several times. Despite numerous calls between the two companies, they couldn't coordinate to change our flight to another Ajet flight on the same day. How can such an established company like THY separate Ajet without preparing the necessary infrastructure? Was this scenario never discussed? If THY has no authority over Ajet flights, why do they continue selling Ajet tickets through their app? I trusted THY's operational capabilities and customer-focused approach when purchasing my ticket through the app, but how could they proceed with this separation without the technical infrastructure to solve such a simple issue? Is the only solution you offer a refund? Why am I forced to find new tickets 10 days before the holiday? Moreover, despite writing feedback on your website, I haven't received a response in 10 days. (TK-10561259) In summary, I strongly advise against purchasing Ajet tickets through the THY app. The separation was executed without adequate technical infrastructure, leaving customers like us in the lurch. Even the representatives I spoke with often answered my questions with 'We don't know, everything is still very new.' The fact that you have to wait 50 minutes just to connect with an Ajet representative says it all.
