I have purchased a round-trip ticket from Turkish Airlines with invoice date 08/06/2023 and ticket number 2352148159667 for the Istanbul-Kahramanmaras route. On June 17, 2023, for my flight scheduled at 08:35 from Istanbul to Kahramanmaras, I arrived at the counter around 07:40 and started waiting in line. Despite the presence of many people waiting, only half of the counters at Turkish Airlines were operational, while the other half remained empty. The staff members who were working displayed an indifferent attitude towards the congestion. After waiting for about 15-20 minutes in the line, around 07:55, the agent at the counter informed me that the flight was closed, stating that flights close 45 minutes before departure, and that I couldn't board the plane. I explained that I had already arrived an hour before, waited in line for approximately 15-29 minutes, and mentioned that only half of the counters were open. However, the staff member ignored my concerns, handed me a late application card, and directed me to the ticket sales counter. At the ticket sales counter, the THY personnel attempted to sell me a new ticket, stating that I couldn't board the flight. I then proceeded to meet with the supervisor at Counter D-44. Upon reaching the supervisor, a lady made several phone calls and engaged in conversation with three passengers who had another flight scheduled at 08:40, before directing them to their flight. If flights are supposed to close 45 minutes prior, why were those passengers allowed to proceed? This happened around 08:15. There were many other passengers who experienced a similar ordeal as mine. Turkish Airlines sells extra tickets and consequently causes distress to passengers. When we requested to be directed to the flight, similar to the three passengers, while there were still 40 minutes left until my flight, the supervisor informed me that the Kahramanmaras flight had departed, even though it was not yet 08:35.If such discrimination had not taken place, I wouldn't be writing this complaint. Turkish Airlines practices double standards, allowing passengers with other flights to proceed 20 minutes before their departure while redirecting me from one counter to another, and in the end, claiming that my flight had departed despite their negligent attitude. I condemn Turkish Airlines and its indifferent employees. I demand a full refund of the ticket fare due to the discrimination I faced
