On December 16, 2023, I had a flight from Abidjan to Turkey with flight number 0559. The plane was scheduled to depart at 01:50 but took off at 02:20. After boarding and a long wait, I sat in seat 10B and found food crumbs and dirt inside the seatbelt. I immediately called a flight attendant to report the issue and expressed my reluctance to fasten the dirty seatbelt. The attendant said it was the cleaning crew's responsibility and offered me a wet wipe to clean it, but the stains did not come off completely. I asked if there was an empty seat available, and the attendant directed me to a seat between two other passengers in the middle section. However, I couldn't sit comfortably because the passengers were spread out. I informed the attendant that I wanted to move to another seat, and I was eventually relocated.
During the meal service, only one type of meal was offered, and the attitude seemed to be 'take it or leave it.' When I asked why there were not two meal options, I was told that this was the case for this flight. The passenger in front of me, a veterinarian, refused the meal, and the attendant discussed the issue with a colleague. The colleague said, 'How can they refuse? I'll handle it,' and spoke with the passenger, who still did not eat the meal. The attendant then gave the passenger an apple and an orange. There were conversations among the staff about the adequacy of the meal situation. I fly regularly and travel to Turkey every 23 days, returning to Abidjan after 23 days. However, this was the first time I experienced such issues. The service quality in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, and catering was quite low. I experienced every possible negative situation on this flight. I documented the incidents with videos and pictures. If I have the opportunity, I will share them here.
