Trendyol Withdrew More Than My Order Total - Held the Extra Without Reason
Trendyol now requires serious attention from both our Minister of Finance and Minister of Internal Affairs—not just because of the isolated issue I personally experienced, but for the public good. The real problem is that Trendyol blocks customers' payments under the name of pre-authorization, even if only for one day. In theory, the process works like this: the amount is withdrawn from your card at the time of order and held in provision, and once the order is delivered, the blocked amount should be reflected in the final charge. However, Trendyol has created a loophole, using excuses like weight differences to keep this pre-authorization in a pending state. In my case, I placed an order for ₺531, but ₺637 was withdrawn from my card. There was no weight difference or discrepancy in the products received. If there is a weight difference, it should be clearly shown in the app after the delivery—just like Migros does, and Migros doesn’t even take a pre-authorization. What is the legal basis for the arbitrary 15% provision Trendyol is holding? Even if they have the right to take it, why is it held for 1–2 days? Where is this money during that time? It’s not in provision—this is clearly visible in bank transaction records. Customer service treats people like they’re clueless and just repeats, “Your refund will be processed in 2–3 days depending on your bank.” Friends, wake up. Imagine millions of customers having ₺100 or ₺200 held even for a day—where is all that money going? Trendyol owes an explanation to both the people and the state. Avoid using Trendyol GO whenever possible. If you experience the same issue, immediately file a complaint with Presidential Communication Center and the necessary legal authorities. This is a collective issue, and we shouldn’t dismiss it as just ₺10 or ₺100. When you look at the bigger picture, it becomes very clear. I will also be filing a complaint with the prosecutor’s office, and if anyone else is interested, we can combine our cases.
