SunExpress Airlines Bad Flight Review
Unfortunately, I am reaching out to you regarding an unpleasant matter. I had two Sun Express flights scheduled for June 20, 2024, followed by a flight from Birmingham to Paris for an important business meeting for my company. Initially, at Adana Airport, we were informed of a one-hour delay, and my family and I began waiting. Since I didn’t need baggage allowance, I purchased separate tickets to avoid paying for baggage on the international ticket, as domestic tickets automatically include baggage. After a 3-hour and 15-minute delay, the plane took off and landed in Antalya. Upon arrival in Antalya, we learned that we had missed the Birmingham flight. Besides myself, three other passengers also missed the Birmingham flight. The official mentioned that since my ticket wasn’t linked, they couldn’t do anything but would still connect me with a Sun Express representative. Meanwhile, the flight attendant on board assured me it wouldn’t be a problem and requested the on-site staff to assist me.When we reached the Sun Express office, I was met with unexpected and inhumane responses. It was the last day of the holiday, and they told me that since my tickets were not linked, they had no responsibility and that I should fend for myself. I relayed what the Adana airport official had told me, and they smugly suggested that I could return to Adana with a ticket I would have to purchase myself. I had no place to stay in Antalya, and I had already spent the time I could have been with my family traveling to Antalya. Then they said, "Oh, there's no space on the flight back to Adana anyway." They told me to buy a ticket for the next day and that there was nothing else they could do but file a complaint. I was left alone in Antalya, not knowing what to do. Other passengers in the same situation were accommodated in hotels and provided new flight tickets. Despite having both my flights with Sun Express, I was left stranded with this disrespectful treatment. I missed my meeting in Paris, had to stay in a hotel, buy a new flight ticket, and, worst of all, if I had been informed in Adana, I wouldn’t have had to keep my family waiting for 3 hours and wouldn’t have come to Antalya or experienced this stress.I demand compensation from Sun Express for the flight delay exceeding 3 hours, the inhumane behavior of the staff at Antalya Airport, and the reimbursement of my non-refundable flight tickets and hotel reservation.
