3-Year-Old Seated Away from Family on SunExpress Airlines
My daughter, son-in-law, and 3-year-old grandchild arrived in Antalya from Frankfurt, Germany, to visit us for a holiday. For their Sunexpress flight SQ146 from Antalya to Frankfurt on June 8, 2024, with a 10:05 local time departure, we completed online check-in a day prior. Despite my daughter and son-in-law being assigned seats next to each other, my 3-year-old grandchild was assigned a seat in a different row. When I contacted customer service to explain that a 3-year-old cannot travel alone, I was informed that it was company policy and that the check-in could be canceled. However, if we paid, they could arrange for the three seats to be together. Reluctantly, we had to pay approximately €14 to sit together.
I strongly condemn and complain about Sunexpress's policy of separating a 3-year-old from their family to extract additional fees from passengers.
