Skechers Rejected My Complaint About a Stitch Tear on the Side of My Shoe
There was a tear on my Skechers shoe—specifically on the left side of the left shoe, at the stitching point of the leather section in the middle. There’s actually another protective layer over the torn area, and that part is intact, so the tear occurred in a well-protected spot. When I sent the product for inspection, I received a vague message simply stating it was not a manufacturing defect, with no explanation. When I called customer service, they responded with excuses like "we don’t know how the shoes were used," "maybe the laces were constantly tied," or "maybe it got wet"—without offering any detail about the actual inspection. My family and I regularly use other models from the brand, and we've never experienced anything like this, even though we treat them all the same: no washing, no wiping with chemicals. The area where the tear occurred is not a spot that could be easily damaged—it’s protected and not exposed to wear or sharp objects. The top layer is completely intact, which leads me to believe the issue stems from defective stitching holes. We pay high prices for trusted brands like this so we can wear them confidently and expect issues to be resolved promptly when they arise. Even my unbranded shoes haven’t worn out this quickly, and I’m being blamed for this one. I will request a second inspection, but it's clear they don’t care. I plan to file a complaint under Consumer Rights and want the brand to take note.
Is that all, will you just thank me for forwarding it, or will there be an evaluation or information provided as well?
