hutterstock's Hidden Cancellation Penalty Cost Me $191 for a Single Unusable Photo

On October 1, 2025, unable to find the exact image I needed on Shutterstock and finding no single-image purchase option available, I purchased an annual subscription plan at $29 per month (or $34.80 including tax) and downloaded just one image. When I canceled my subscription the same day, an additional $191.40 (including taxes) — representing 50% of the annual fee — was immediately charged to my account.
During the cancellation process, I was shown a warning stating that a fee would be charged upon cancellation, but there was no clear indication that only the cost of the single downloaded image would be deducted. I had no real choice but to proceed with the cancellation under those terms.
I reached out to customer service both via email and through the support team, but received no response. My order code is CS-0C85D-9CB5, and I completed these transactions from Istanbul, Turkey.
I categorically reject being charged half a year's subscription cost despite having downloaded only one image — which did not even meet my needs. I am requesting a refund of the excess amount charged for a service I did not use, and I am noting that the downloaded image was also not fit for my purpose.
