My Segway Ninebot F2 Pro Scooter Hinge Lock Is Too Stiff And Not Covered By Warranty

August 9, 2025 4:12 PM95

On April 14, 2025, I purchased a Segway Ninebot F2 Pro Scooter, expecting to benefit from its main feature: the foldable design. However, the hinge lock is so stiff that the folding function is practically unusable. From the first day, it has required an excessive amount of force—like using a hydraulic lever—just to attempt to open it. This makes folding the scooter impossible and also risks cracks in the hinge area. To me, this is a clear design and manufacturing defect.

Despite the scooter being only five months old and still under warranty, Segway classified the issue as “user damage” and refused to cover it. The service center demanded ₺3,500 for repairs, which is unreasonable compared to the scooter’s purchase price of ₺22,700.

I left the product at the service center and then contacted Segway’s customer service at 444 81 39. Unfortunately, instead of offering solutions, they took a dismissive and even condescending attitude, placing all blame on me as the customer. This response has completely destroyed my trust in the Segway brand.

I demand that Segway repair the hinge lock under warranty, free of charge, and that the company address the poor customer service I experienced. A foldable scooter that cannot fold is not only useless but also poses a safety risk. I expect my issue to be resolved promptly and fairly.

I am writing this as a note for people who research and investigate. There has been no response. In terms of service and product quality, this is the lowest level of service I have ever received anywhere. Don’t waste your money. There are many alternatives. I will no longer shop from Segway or any related brands.
