On the night of March 13, I purchased a ticket for Metro Turizm’s 11:00 PM İzmit–Ankara bus, trip number 343163, and I boarded the bus at the terminal according to that ticket.
During the journey, the bus stopped at a rest area in Bolu called “Koftexpress.” At that point, the bus driver, together with a waiter from the rest facility, attempted on their own initiative to transfer me to another bus. They told me that the current bus would not be passing through Ankara and directed me to a different vehicle.
However, when I approached the other bus, its driver also told me that his bus was not going through Ankara, so he refused to take me. As a result, I was left stranded at the rest stop.
When I spoke again with the waiter, I overheard him saying, “He got on the wrong bus—take him somewhere else.” They attempted to put me onto yet another bus. When I explained that I had not boarded the wrong bus, I was met with a disrespectful and threatening response, essentially telling me, “Don’t drag this out, or you’ll be left here.”
In the end, I had no choice but to pay out of my own pocket for another bus ticket, and I am currently trying to reach Ankara this way.
The conduct of both the Metro Turizm driver and the rest area employee, who acted together to misinform me, remove me from the bus, and leave me stranded, is completely unacceptable. A passenger cannot be arbitrarily removed from a ticketed trip and left at a roadside rest stop late at night under these circumstances.
Because of the hardship I experienced, I request the following:
A full refund of my original bus ticket
Compensation for the additional ticket I had to purchase to continue my journey
Administrative action against the driver and the rest area employee involved
A formal written apology
I expect Metro Turizm to thoroughly investigate this incident and take the necessary steps to ensure that similar situations do not happen to other passengers. I have already contacted the call center and filed a complaint, but with this written statement I expect the matter to be resolved promptly.
