Lululemon Refused a Size Exchange After I Removed the Tag

On June 6, 2026, I purchased a pair of ABC Classic Fit Trouser pants from your Lululemon brand store located at Teşvikiye Mahallesi, Teşvikiye Caddesi, City’s AVM No. 12. When I tried the pants on in the fitting room, the size appeared to be appropriate, and the store associate specifically confirmed that the size was suitable. At the time of payment, I was informed that I had one month to exchange the item, and no other restrictions were mentioned.

The following day, I removed the tag because I wanted to wear the pants. As I walked around during the day, I realized that the pants, which had seemed to fit properly when I tried them on in the store, were actually too large and loose, and that the fabric had loosened. As a result, on June 8, 2026, I returned the item to the same store and explained that the pants were too large and that I wanted to exchange them for the same product in one size smaller. However, I was told that they could not accept the item back simply because I had removed the tag.

At the time of purchase, I was never informed that the item could not be returned or exchanged if the tag was removed. However, the store then used the removed tag as the reason for refusing the exchange. When I asked how I was supposed to wear and properly test the pants without removing the tag, I was instead told that they do not accept worn items and that the one-month period only applied to manufacturing defects. Since these details were not clearly explained at the time of sale, I feel misled and unfairly treated.

For these pants, which I paid approximately $164, I requested only a size exchange, yet I was refused assistance based on reasons that were not disclosed at the time of purchase. This is completely inconsistent with the level of customer service I would expect from a company that presents itself as a premium brand. If this type of sales policy is going to be applied, customers should be clearly informed at the time of purchase about all tag, usage, exchange, and return conditions, particularly regarding size selection and the possibility that the fabric may loosen after being worn. Otherwise, many customers, including those who purchase these products as gifts, could experience the same problem I have faced.
