I had a paid round-trip ticket from the U.S. to Turkey, with travel dates from May 29 to October 11, 2024. I used the flight to Turkey without any issues, but I needed to change the date of my return flight. While trying to modify my reservation through the mobile app, I suddenly received a notification saying, "Your ticket has been canceled." Shortly after, I received an email confirming the cancellation of my ticket.
This cancellation happened without my consent, which should not be possible. How can a paid ticket be canceled in just 3 seconds without any approval from the customer? Why would I cancel a ticket I paid for? I would either request a refund or convert it to an open ticket, not cancel it outright.
I’ve been dealing with this issue for two days now. I sent an email to Lufthansa but have received no response. I’ve also contacted the Istanbul call center multiple times, but they haven’t been able to assist me. I tried reaching out through the mobile app, but I only get automated responses that don’t help at all. I provided all my details but still haven't received any answer or information.
I purchased the ticket through Lufthansa’s website. The itinerary was Pittsburgh-Canada-Frankfurt-Istanbul, in cooperation with Lufthansa and Canada Airport. I do not accept the cancellation of my ticket. I am requesting either a refund or to have the ticket made available for future use.
Reservation Code: TSEFPY
Ticket No: 2202734017
I urge Lufthansa to resolve this issue immediately. I will not accept any other form of reimbursement that does not address my situation.
