Air France Returned Suitcase Dirty and Torn After Long Baggage Delay
After my Paris–Orlando flight on November 22, 2025, with PNR DL8724, I was unable to receive my checked baggage. Your staff informed me that my suitcase had been left behind in Paris. For six days, I experienced severe hardship and, more importantly, faced a serious health risk. I am 56 years old and have heart disease; I have previously undergone heart surgery and must take prescription heart medication every day. Because these medications are available only by prescription, we were unable to obtain replacements in the United States. The flight number was DL8724, the date was November 22, 2025, and the PIR number is MCOAF10710. Despite an “urgent” note being added due to my heart condition, my suitcase was still not delivered for days, and every time we contacted customer service, we were given a different and unreliable delivery date. My prescription heart medications were inside the missing bag, and I was exposed to a serious health risk as a result. I was forced to wear the same clothes for six days and had to purchase basic necessities out of necessity. Some perishable food items inside the suitcase spoiled and had to be discarded. When my suitcase was finally returned, it was dirty and torn. This situation clearly constitutes a case of delayed baggage under the Montreal Convention and caused significant financial loss as well as serious health consequences. Because I was unable to take my medication regularly, another artery has become blocked, and I am scheduled to undergo an angiography tomorrow. I am requesting full reimbursement of all expenses related to essential purchases, replacement of personal items, and medication costs, appropriate compensation for the serious health and safety risk caused by this delay, and reimbursement for the cost of my suitcase, which was purchased in France and was returned in a ruined condition.
