IKEA Refused to Honor My 10-Year Sofa Warranty for Damaged Cushions

Approximately four years ago, I purchased sofas online from IKEA that were sold with a 10-year warranty. One of the sofas has now developed a serious problem: the inner cushion covers on the back cushions have rotted, torn apart, and completely disintegrated. Because the inner covers are falling apart, the stuffing inside spills everywhere, which means I cannot remove and wash the covers properly or use the sofa in a clean and healthy condition anymore. I purchased two sofas of the exact same model and used them under the same conditions, yet this issue has occurred on only one of them.
I reported the issue to IKEA through an online message, and afterward I was contacted by customer service. During the conversation, they implied that the problem was caused by me and suggested that I may have spilled some type of chemical substance on the sofa, which supposedly caused the damage. However, if a chemical substance had actually been spilled, it makes no sense that only the inner lining would rot while the outer fabric remained completely unaffected. This approach not only upset me, but also made me feel as though I was being unfairly accused of lying.
Although my sofas were sold with a 10-year warranty, instead of being blamed, I expect this issue involving the inner cushion linings to be evaluated properly under the warranty coverage and repaired accordingly. I request that the damaged inner covers be replaced and that the sofa be restored to a safe and usable condition consistent with the quality and durability promised under IKEA’s warranty policy.
