Halalbooking Refused to Refund My Unused Hotel Reservation
On October 1, I made reservation No. 5439249 for Ten Apart Hotel through Halalbooking and paid 2,726.19 Turkish lira by bank transfer. After the booking, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and that my reservation could not be accommodated. As a result, I never stayed at Ten Apart Hotel.
To avoid being left without accommodation, I made another reservation through Halalbooking on the same day, this time at Aden Suit Apart under reservation No. 6721987, where I ultimately stayed. In other words, I was forced to make a second reservation and pay for alternative accommodation for the same date. When I realized that the payment for the first hotel had not been refunded, I contacted Halalbooking.
Halalbooking told me that my initial booking attempt had been rejected, but that reservation No. 5439249 was subsequently confirmed successfully and accepted by the hotel. It also stated that the hotel had marked the reservation as a “no-show” and that no refund could be issued because the booking was non-refundable. However, I never stayed at Ten Apart Hotel, never checked in, and never used any of its services. Moreover, because I was told that the hotel was fully booked, I had no choice but to book another property on the same day and stay at Aden Suit Apart.
If the reservation was genuinely valid and a room had been set aside in my name, I deserve an explanation as to why I was told that the hotel was fully booked and why I had to book another hotel and pay additional costs. I consider it unfair to charge me for a service I never used and then refuse to issue a refund. I do not accept this treatment.
I demand a full refund of the 2,726.19 Turkish lira paid for reservation No. 5439249, along with appropriate compensation for the financial loss and distress this situation has caused me.
