Atasun Optik Refuses Gucci Sunglasses Exchange Over Pre-Existing Scratches
On August 4, I purchased a pair of Gucci sunglasses from the Atasun Optik store at Marmara Park. At the time of purchase, I was told that the pair I was given was a display model, that my own pair had been ordered separately, and that once my ordered product arrived, it would be exchanged for the display model. Because I was under the impression that I would only be using the display pair temporarily and that it would eventually be replaced, I did not carefully inspect the sunglasses down to the smallest detail when I received them.
After my ordered pair arrived, I went to the store to have the exchange made. However, I was told that the sunglasses had fine scratches and that they could not process either a return or an exchange because of those scratches. The problem is that it is clearly apparent that these fine scratches were already present, and the product had in fact been used as a display model before it was given to me. I acted in good faith and trusted the store employees, so I did not specifically inspect the sunglasses for scratches when I received them. Despite this, I am now being held entirely responsible for the condition of the product.
The store employees did not provide any meaningful assistance and simply told me that I had to continue using the sunglasses as they were and that neither a return nor an exchange would be possible. Being given a display product on the understanding that it was only temporary, only to later have the product effectively left with me in a scratched condition, while my concerns and customer satisfaction were completely disregarded, has made me feel misled and unfairly treated.
Therefore, I request that I be allowed to return or exchange these sunglasses without any conditions, given that the fine scratches were already present when the display product was provided to me. I also request that the conduct and approach of the store employees throughout this process be investigated and reviewed.
