I Was Denied My Prepaid Greenmotion Rental Despite High Credit Score and No Violations

I booked a 9-day car rental from Greenmotion’s Ankara Esenboğa Airport branch, paid in full two weeks in advance. When I arrived at the branch to pick up the vehicle, they completed the Findeks (credit) check and confirmed there were no issues. I was then offered optional services like an extra driver and an enhanced protection package. I clearly declined both, stating I would be the only driver and didn’t need additional coverage.
After this, they left me waiting at the counter for a while and suddenly claimed, “Your transaction was rejected,” refusing to provide the car. When I called customer service to clarify the situation, they said the booking was canceled by the branch based on two false claims: (1) that I requested a second driver without declaring it, and (2) that I had recent credit card payment delays. Both statements are untrue. I never asked for a second driver, and my last payment delay was over 6 months ago. My Findeks score is 1265 with an available limit of ₺750,000.
It’s clear the branch staff attempted to push add-ons, and when I refused, they fabricated a justification to cancel the rental. Their actions completely disrupted my travel plans and caused serious stress and financial loss. We are now preparing a legal claim for emotional damages and have retained documentation, including Findeks data and payment records.
I urge Greenmotion to investigate this unacceptable behavior and take immediate corrective action. Other customers deserve to know how easily reservations can be denied on dishonest grounds if they decline upsells.
