I purchased a flexible ticket from Gotogate for my return flight, paying an additional fee specifically to have the option of changing my travel date without issues. On their website, the description clearly states: “Flexible (rebookable) Ticket allows you to change your flight regardless of the airline’s rules. If the new ticket costs more, you only pay the difference.” This promise was the sole reason I chose to pay extra.
When I needed to change my travel date, I even found a cheaper ticket than my original booking, expecting that no additional charge would apply. However, when I contacted Gotogate, I was told that the flexible ticket policy was “a bit complicated” and that I would essentially need to purchase a completely new ticket. I pointed out their own wording, but the only explanation I received was: “Yes, unfortunately, it’s a bit confusing.”
As a result, not only did my ticket go to waste, but the extra fee I paid for flexibility was also lost. Instead of honoring their advertised conditions, Gotogate shifted the burden onto me with misleading terms and practices.
I strongly request that Gotogate refund the money I paid for the flexible ticket option and make their policies transparent to customers. Until they fix this deceptive practice, I will warn others not to trust or purchase tickets from this platform.
