I purchased my airline ticket through Gotogate, but the airline later canceled the flight due to operational reasons. Normally, in such cases, passengers are entitled to a free change or rebooking option. However, Gotogate never informed me of this right. Instead, they only offered me the option to cancel the booking altogether.
Believing I had no other choice, I proceeded with the cancellation. Later, I found out that I actually should have been able to change my ticket free of charge. By that time, I had already been forced to purchase another flight for ₺12,000 more out of my own pocket.
This is unacceptable. Gotogate’s lack of transparency and misleading guidance caused me severe financial loss and unnecessary stress. I demand accountability and reimbursement of the extra costs I had to pay because of their failure to properly inform me of my rights. Customers deserve honest communication and fair treatment, not hidden policies and financial exploitation.
