EasyJet Charged 110 GBP for Standard Cabin Bag Despite Being Within Weight Limit
On my recent EasyJet flight, I was shocked to be charged 55 GBP each for myself and my son, totaling 110 GBP, simply because our standard cabin-size bags were not allowed inside the cabin. Each bag weighed only 5 kg, far below my 15 kg allowance, yet I was told the measurements required placing them in the hold. If there had been a clear notice beforehand, I would have opted for a checked bag allowance at a lower fee. Unlike every other airline I’ve flown with—after years of traveling regularly to London—EasyJet enforces an inconsistent and confusing baggage policy. Their requirement of 45x36x20 cm for 15 kg is completely unrealistic, and there was no warning provided that normal cabin-size bags would not be accepted onboard. Before the flight, there was also no clear support channel to ask questions, and even after my daughter emailed, there was no reply. I feel this was a deliberate way to overcharge passengers, as I witnessed others in the same situation. This was my first time flying with EasyJet and it will definitely be my last. I demand a full refund of the 110 GBP unfairly charged, and I urge EasyJet to adopt transparent, customer-friendly baggage policies.
