EasyJet Charged Me €70 for Using My 26kg Bag Allowance Across Two Suitcases
On December 7, 2024, I flew with EasyJet on flight U21279 from Basel to Antalya. Along with my ticket, I paid for an extra 26kg baggage allowance in advance. However, when I tried to split that allowance across two suitcases—still totaling 26kg—I was told by the gate agent that I had to use a single bag and was forced to pay an additional €70 on the spot.
Nowhere on EasyJet’s website does it state that 26kg of paid baggage must be packed into a single suitcase. This rule was neither communicated during booking nor shown in the baggage policy. It felt like I was being taken advantage of by an arbitrary and unjust decision made at the airport.
I am requesting a full refund of the €70 charged without any legal or policy-based justification. EasyJet, this kind of misleading and opportunistic practice damages trust. I expect your team to review this issue and reimburse me immediately.
