Converse Sent Me a Different Colored Jacket Than Advertised and Refused to Fix It

Converse and SuperStep misrepresent products by displaying unavailable items in their catalogs and selling products that differ from what’s shown. On November 12, 2024, at 7:15 PM, we ordered a cream-lilac jacket from Converse’s Turkey website. When the package arrived five days later, we found that the jacket was in different colors. We contacted customer service (444 3736) and the Ankara Kentpark Converse Store for an exchange. Both channels told us that if the product code matched, we could exchange it directly at the store. The following day, when we visited the Ankara Kentpark Converse Store, we realized we had been misled by the brand. Ms. B**** from the store brought us the product in stock with the same code, but it had no trace of lilac. She admitted she had never seen the cream-lilac jacket in the store, although the store’s computer system listed its color as "lilac-cream." She then offered to check with another Converse store for clarification. Meanwhile, we contacted the House of SuperStep store in Antalya’s The Land of Legends Mall, which also listed the jacket for sale. Store manager Ms. G**** confirmed that the product color in her store was not cream-lilac, adding to the confusion. What’s even stranger is that none of the Converse or SuperStep stores across Turkey have an image of the cream-gray jacket actually being sold, yet every website displays the lilac-cream jacket that no one has seen in person. After we escalated the issue, Converse removed the image of the jacket from their website, but other stores still show the lilac jacket, listed as "purple," which they don’t have. Converse customer service got back to us 3-4 days later, offering the same solution they initially proposed before we discovered this whole misrepresentation: return the product, and they would issue us ParaPuan (store credit). This is absurd. We are being blatantly misled, and Converse refuses to take responsibility. While we may not be the first to face this issue, as the first to voice it online, I demand that Converse provide me with the lilac/purple jacket they advertised.
During the past 11 days, we were informed by SuperStep that the purple/lilac-colored product could not be supplied as it was not available in Turkey or in any overseas stock that could be checked. This information was given in two calls, one on November 23 and the other two on November 26. The stock and product information on their website were updated. It was reiterated that if we returned the product we had, a ParaPuan credit could be issued, but I mentioned that even if we didn't want to return the product, we expected a goodwill gesture as compensation. We were told we would be contacted again, but we have not received any further response since then. Long story short, we managed to wake the brands from their hibernation regarding stock/advertising, but we were left with nothing but our dashed hopes. Rest assured, dear brand representatives, that everyone around me will be made aware of the roles of Converse Turkey and SuperStep in this incident. Your attention and interest were enlightening 🙏
