Requesting Full €247 Refund After Carjet Left Me Stranded Without Vehicle in Spain

On August 12, 2024, I rented a car through Carjet in Spain and paid €156 for the vehicle rental plus €43 for insurance. However, when I arrived at the pickup office, no staff members were present. Initially, there was a note stating, “I’ll be back in 5 minutes,” which was later replaced with another note reading, “I’ll be back in 65 minutes.” I waited for a long time, but no one ever arrived, and I was unable to collect the car.

During this ordeal, I called Carjet’s local office in Spain four times and sent seven emails, but never received any response or support. To make matters worse, none of my payments have been refunded, even though I never received the service I paid for.

Because I couldn’t get the car, I had to take a taxi instead, which cost me an additional €48. The entire experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.

I request a full refund of all payments made — including the rental fee (€156), the insurance fee (€43), and the taxi fare (€48) — for a total of €247. As someone who has rented cars for years without incident, this has been my worst experience to date, and I expect my refund to be processed immediately.
