Canon G2470 Warranty Repair Was Rejected Over Alleged Print Limit
My Canon G2470 printer, which I purchased last year, developed a malfunction while still under warranty and stopped printing completely. Because of this issue, I took the device to the Teknoser service center in Bornova, İzmir.
After their inspection, I was informed that approximately 17,760 pages had allegedly been printed with the device, that the printer’s usage capacity had therefore been exceeded, and that for this reason the malfunction would not be covered under warranty. However, I do not believe it would even be realistically possible for me to have printed that many pages, and I strongly believe that this number does not reflect the actual usage of my printer.
Despite this, I was asked to pay approximately $149 as a service fee. Considering that the current price of a brand-new printer is around $110, it is completely unacceptable to charge such a high amount for a product that is still within its warranty period and to deny warranty coverage in this way.
This situation creates the impression that Canon is not standing behind the products it sells and is instead pushing customers toward buying new devices rather than properly honoring warranty obligations. In addition, reaching customer service during this process was nearly impossible, which only increased my disappointment and frustration.
I request that the malfunction affecting my Canon G2470 printer, which is still under warranty, be repaired free of charge without unfairly excluding it from warranty coverage based on the disputed print count claim.
