I Couldn’t Change My Paris Hotel Dates on Booking.com Despite Hotel’s Approval

I made a hotel reservation in Paris through Booking.com, but due to an unexpected change in my travel plans, I needed to reschedule the booking dates. I contacted the hotel directly, and they were extremely cooperative — they told me they’d be happy to proceed with the cancellation or date change as long as Booking.com contacted them to authorize it.

However, Booking.com has been completely unhelpful. Despite the hotel’s willingness to make the change, Booking.com refuses to process my request. Even the hotel staff found this situation unnecessary and confusing. I’ve been calling their customer support line for weeks, only to be left on hold with endless music, and I’m repeatedly told that all Turkish-speaking agents are unavailable.

This lack of support has caused me significant inconvenience. Booking.com’s rigid system and lack of customer service make it incredibly difficult to resolve even simple issues. I should not be forced to lose money or change my entire trip because a company won’t facilitate a request that the hotel has already approved.

I demand that Booking.com fix this immediately and refund the appropriate ₺ amount or allow my reservation to be modified. I also advise other travelers to think twice before booking through Booking.com — if your plans change, you may find yourself stuck, ignored, and financially penalized.
