I Accidentally Booked a Non-Refundable Stay in South Cyprus on Booking.com Without a Passport

On May 2, 2025, I accidentally made a non-refundable reservation at Silver Sandis Beach Hotel in South Cyprus through Booking.com. Unfortunately, I do not have a passport, and there is no way for me to obtain a visa in time. This means it is physically impossible for me to travel there, yet Booking.com refuses to help in any way.

I’ve been messaging both the hotel and Booking.com for the last three days. Only today did I get a response from the hotel, and it was a flat rejection. Booking.com keeps shifting the responsibility to the property instead of assisting me with a solution—even though it’s clear this is an honest mistake with a serious consequence.

I’m reaching out in hopes that someone at Booking.com, or anyone who can intervene, will help me cancel this reservation or at least issue a partial refund. This lack of support is disappointing and stressful. I urge Booking.com to take responsibility for helping its customers in such urgent and unavoidable circumstances.
