How to Fight a $190 USD Car Rental Refund Issue with Booking.com After a Delayed Flight
On November 2, 2025, I rented a car through Booking.com at Split Airport — a Skoda Kodiaq (Reservation No. 657494796). Because my Istanbul→Split flight was delayed, I was supposed to arrive at 9:30 PM but only reached the airport at 12:30 AM. I notified both Booking.com and the rental company Payless of my delay and agreed to pay an additional €75 fee, requesting delivery of the car.
Booking.com customer support told me the company would wait and that I should give them the time details. However, Payless did not wait and I couldn’t take delivery of the car. Afterwards Booking.com applied the cancellation and refund conditions, and from the amount I paid — $190 — only $107 was refunded, leaving a deduction of $82.
Even though my flight was delayed and I informed all parties, I was deprived of the car and denied service. I request that the full amount of the deducted $82 be refunded to me.
