I Face Refund Delay for Canceled Europcar Car Rental via Booking.com at Rome Airport
On July 20, 2025, I booked a car rental through Booking.com (confirmation number 658401310) with Europcar at Rome Fiumicino Airport, scheduled to start on July 22, 2025. When I arrived to collect the vehicle, I was told my driver’s license—although new—was “not compatible,” and they refused to hand over the car. I immediately requested to cancel the reservation, and Europcar staff told me the cancellation had to be processed by the agency to issue a full refund. They handled the cancellation themselves and assured me that Booking.com would refund my payment.
However, to date, I have received no refund of the ₺9,788 I paid. I have sent multiple messages through the Booking.com app and follow-up emails, yet I have received no response at all. There is no customer service number for Turkey, and the international call center does not offer Turkish language support.
I am requesting the immediate and full refund of my payment and for Booking.com to improve their communication and resolution process in such cases.
