False Advertising And Overpricing In Sugar Beach Club

I stayed at Sugar Beach Club in Oludeniz (Oludeniz Beldesi, Oludeniz Cad. No 63, Oludeniz Fethiye, Mugla, 48000, Turkey) from 15 to 17 August 2026 with a reservation made through Booking.com, and I would like to report serious false advertising and overpricing regarding this stay. On Booking.com, my room type was listed as a “Standard Bungalow” and described as 25 square meters. However, when I checked in, it was immediately obvious that the bungalow was clearly under 15 square meters. In addition, the facilities and furnishings were old and shabby, completely different from the impression given by the photos and description in the listing. For two nights, the total price was US$630.81. As a Booking Genius member, I received a 10% discount and actually paid US$578.30, which corresponds to about €500.74. This price is absolutely disproportionate to the size and quality of the room I received. Within an hour of check‑in on 15 August 2026, I explicitly informed the hotel manager that I wished to check out due to the false advertising and because the room was not worth such a high price. The hotel only offered to refund the cost of the second night. I rejected this, as I had already discovered and reported the problem immediately, and requested instead a full refund for the second night and a 50% refund for the first night. The hotel refused this proposal. At the same time, I contacted Booking.com customer service on 15 August 2026 and explained the situation in detail. Booking.com communicated with the hotel, but the hotel still refused to offer a fair solution or refund. I checked out the next morning, did not stay for the second night at all, and left the hotel, even though both nights had been fully prepaid. Booking.com continued to negotiate with the hotel for about a month. In the end, the hotel declared that they would not provide any refund whatsoever. They are now even refusing to refund the second night, which I did not use, claiming that they cannot issue any refund after I have checked out. I find this explanation unacceptable, because my complaint and request for a solution were made immediately after check‑in and well before the second night. I am requesting that the hotel and Booking.com recognize the clear discrepancy between the advertised and actual room, as well as the excessive price charged, and provide at minimum a full refund for the unused second night and a 50% refund for the first night, as I originally proposed shortly after arrival.
