On November 6, 2025, I made and confirmed a reservation through Booking.com for “Le Red St Léon: Lit Queen Size * Wi-Fi * Idéal Couple” in Colmar, France, for the dates December 20–23, 2025 and paid 56,872 Turkish lira (~$1,364) in full. My reservation code is 5215150850.
Shortly thereafter, I received an email from the property owner stating that the accommodation had been booked by other guests and that I needed to cancel my reservation. I contacted Booking.com by email. They told me my situation would be remedied, that they would help with accommodations, and that if I found an equivalent property, they would cover the price difference.
I specifically informed them that, due to the short time remaining before my trip, I would not be able to find another place in the same price range. Despite this, today I received a new email from Booking.com saying they could only offer €60 and that I must cancel my reservation myself. I did not book with a free cancellation policy, so asking me to cancel creates distrust and makes me worry about whether I will receive a full and timely refund.
Being left without accommodation and in uncertainty with only one week until the trip has caused significant financial and emotional hardship.
First and foremost, I demand:
a full and prompt refund of ~$1,364,
the fulfillment of Booking.com’s written promise to provide equivalent accommodation and cover any price difference, and
an offer of replacement lodging of equal quality that won’t disrupt our travel plans.
