Booking.com Host Never Showed Up — Left Stranded in Cairo After Paying $28

On October 29, 2025, I made a one-night reservation through Booking.com at a property called “a Room in a Shared Apartment in New Cairo, Al-Rehab” (Reservation No: 5940480110). The property is located in the New Cairo area at ****. I paid $28.04 by credit card. After the reservation, I sent a message through the Booking.com app to confirm my check-in details.

However, I was never able to contact the property owner; none of my messages were answered. On the day of my stay, I went to the property in person, but no one was there. As a result, I had no choice but to find another place to stay. (The details of the alternative accommodation I used that night are visible in the attached photo.)

After my trip, I called Booking.com customer service three separate times and explained the situation in detail. During the first call, the agent told me they needed to contact the property owner and asked me to wait five days. When I called again after that period, I was told the payment couldn’t be refunded because I “didn’t call on the day of check-in.” During my final call, the representative hung up on me.

Throughout this entire process, I was left completely stranded and received no service despite paying for my stay. I am requesting a full refund of the amount I paid and expect Booking.com to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
