Booking.com Car Rental Price Increase and Misleading Advertising

I attempted to rent a car through Booking.com, but due to some unclear details online, I decided to visit their airport office for clarification. The rental price for a four-day period was listed as €136 in the system, yet when I spoke with the staff in person, I was suddenly quoted €180—a significant price increase with no explanation.
Additionally, the car I intended to reserve was clearly listed as a Citroën C3, including a specific model name and a matching image. However, when I requested that exact vehicle, the staff told me, “That car isn’t available. The image is just for representation.” This is extremely misleading. If a company lists a specific make and model for a rental, the customer should expect to receive that car—not be offered a different one upon arrival.
This is nothing short of deceptive advertising. If I had booked online, would I have arrived at the rental office only to be handed a completely different vehicle? This lack of transparency and misleading pricing is highly unethical. The staff also showed little interest in resolving the issue.
I expect Booking.com to honor the advertised price and ensure customers receive the vehicles they reserve. This type of bait-and-switch tactic is unacceptable.
