I Booked a Car for $271 on Booking.com but Was Asked to Pay $900 More at Pickup
I rented a car through Booking.com for $271 (₺), expecting a straightforward process. But when I arrived at the rental office, they demanded an additional $900 to release the vehicle—without any prior notice or explanation. I was shocked. There was no mention of this extra charge when I booked, and I felt completely misled.
Naturally, I wanted to cancel the rental. The car company told me I had to cancel it through Booking.com, but when I tried, Booking.com kept redirecting me to the same cancellation page, over and over again. There was no way to reach an actual representative, no support chat, no phone number—just a loop designed to keep me stuck.
I felt cornered, helpless, and completely abandoned by a company I had trusted for years. Why advertise a price that triples at pickup? This is borderline deceptive.
I demand a full refund of my original payment and expect Booking.com to clearly display any hidden fees upfront—and provide real customer support when problems like this arise. This experience was unacceptable.
